What End-Time Churches Will Look Like

We have been living in the end times for some time now, but what do end-time churches look like and teach?

End Times

We have been living in the end times for some time now, but what do end-time churches look like and teach? The Apostle Paul, in his last letter…a sort of, last will and testament, knew what was coming and warned Timothy “that in the last days there will come times of difficulty” (2 Tim 3:1). Paul heard from God about what would come and He warned that “the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons” (1 Tim 4:1). Any teaching that does not require repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ is “teachings of demons” and comes from demonic “deceitful spirits.” Run out of such churches as fast as you can. Jesus is not there…Satan is. Churches that accept same-sex marriage or accept lifestyles not permitted in the Bible (1 Cor 6:9-10) are not churches where Jesus is the Head.

False Prophets

False churches will have false prophets in them.  Jesus Himself said that in the last days “many false prophets will arise and lead many astray” (Matt 24:11). He said many…not a few, but many! And that’s the case today! How many thousands of self-proclaimed apostles or prophets do you know of? Jesus wanted us to “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves” (Matt 7:15). They “are ravenous” or hungry “wolves” who are eager to fleece the flock? How so? By selling books about prophecies, end times, dreams and visions. The Apostle Peter warned the church that “just as there were also false prophets among the people, there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them bringing swift destruction on themselves” (2 Peter 2:1).

False Prophets Then and Now

Peter said “there were also” false prophets in Jerimiah’s day and Isaiah’s day, and so we can expect there “will be” false teachers or prophets in the last days. Listen how concerned Peter was by stressing that, not a few, but “many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories” (2 Peter 2:2). Notice…there will be many who follow them, not just a few. Even in Jeremiah’s day he says there was “An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land: the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes” (Jer 5:30-31)?  Their end is coming…so if someone claims to be a prophet, agree with them, just make sure and add that they are a “false prophet” that Jesus and others spoke about in the Bible. Today a prophet can (and often does) claim a prophecy from God, but it turns out wrong. Blessed are they for in Moses’ day, they would have been stoned to death! Today’s false prophets too will be judged, even more harshly (Rev 20:12-15; Rev 21:8).

False Apostles

False churches will have false apostles in them, and the Apostle Paul had a lot of experience with false teachers and so-called “super apostles” (2 Cor 11:5), so what did Paul think of them? He said that “such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds” (2 Cor 11:13-15). There were only to be 12 apostles…but today, there are an estimated 63 million of them in the world! Sixty-three million apostles…but 63 million false ones! Read for yourself how God has permanently closed the door for any possibility that there will be any more apostles today (Acts 1:21-22).

“even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Cor 11:4).

False Churches

I think I should not have called this paragraph, False Churches, but rather, satanic churches, because that’s where false churches come from. They’re certainly not from God…if they’re not from God, they must be of the Devil, and you’ll find plenty of demonic doctrines there. People are drawn to charismatic, handsome or powerful speakers and like a snake charmer, they charm people right into hell, so slick preachers should not surprise us because “even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Cor 11:4). Since Satan has his own ministers, it must be that he has his own churches, and that is certainly the case. If the gospel or Bible is not preached verse by verse; if the gospel does not include repentance and faith (Mark 1:15), and if there is no great commission, or church sacraments or church discipline, and if the church does not accept or condone homosexual or same-sex behavior, then find another church. It is a church…just one from hell…sending people to the same.

Conclusion

What we must do is to “be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect” (Matt 24:44). I pray you have put your trust in Jesus Christ the Lord. If you haven’t trusted in Christ, you are living in mortal and eternal danger every second. You are only one breath, one heartbeat or one accident away from eternity in hell…you’ll be in a place where it will be too late to repent. This is why the Bible says “Today is the day of salvation” (2 Cor 6:2). As for tomorrow, no one is guaranteed that. If Jesus Christ came today, this is what happens to you (Matt 7:21-23). And this is why I plead with you right now…even as you read this, repent today and put your trust in Jesus Christ. If you not, you will surely face God’s judgment after death guaranteed (Heb 9:27) or at Jesus Christ’s appearance (Rev 20:12-15), which comes first, and Jesus could come at any given moment.
