Many people claim to have dreams or visions and want to know, are they from God and if so, what do they mean?
What Do Dreams and Visions Mean?
From my own experience, I have heard many who have had dreams and had visions of Jesus Christ, but what does this mean? Is Jesus trying to reach them by the only means possible because there are no churches in some places and the Bible is illegal, if not impossible to own? How can God reach those where no missionary dares to walk or is allowed into the country? How can God save them if they’ve never read a Bible or no one tells them about Jesus Christ for fear of being put to death? Over the years, I’ve answered hundreds of emails from readers all over the world, but only a very tiny fraction contact us who seem to have had a real vision or dream and that it was obviously sent from God.
Dreams and Visions Don’t Save
Let’s be clear; Dreams and visions of Jesus doesn’t save anyone. It takes the Spirit of God and with the Word of God to make a child of God, but God may use dreams or visions to draw people to Jesus Christ or to seek out others who might know more about God. God may use dreams and visions to reach people that often can’t be reached and because the Bible is forbidden in so many countries today. It is an exceedingly rare occurrence I believe, but it appears that God does send some dreams or visions, and these dreams or visions have striking similarities. Again, dreams and visions cannot save anyone, but they may be the door for that happening.
Muslim’s Dreams and Visions
Of all the people who had dreams about Jesus, including Muslims, and Muslims who converted to Christianity, I have noticed that there are three things that always seem to be mentioned and these three things really stand out. When they have a dream or vision of Jesus, every single time there is a light or a brightness of His countenance; Him, being Jesus Christ. It is like a soft but powerful light, almost too bright to look at, but also a powerful feeling of love and peace. Interestingly, they all say they know it is Jesus, and even they can’t even explain why they know it’s Him, but they just know in their hearts. For the first time in their lives, they feel an overwhelming sense of feeling of loved and acceptance. It’s almost as if Jesus is asking them to come to Him. So these three things are almost always found in dreams or visions of Jesus; light, love, and His invitation to come to Him.
Last Days
The Bible says that in the last days, “it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28), and this has come true for many in these latter days. People are seeing visions or dreaming dreams about Jesus from other nations, and they’re seeing Him in places where there are few churches and Bibles. I believe this shows God will move heaven and earth to reach one lost sinner who wants to be saved.
Dreamer Beware
God doesn’t want anyone to die in their sins. It is His will that all people repent and believe (2 Pet 3:8-9), including former Muslims, Buddhists, or any other religion. Today is the day of salvation (2 Cor 6:2) because tomorrow may be too late, and after death, it’s judgment time before God (Heb 9:27). God is still seeking sinners to be saved and to come and worship Him (John 4:24), and if He has to use dreams or visions to do it, He can and He will. I really believe He still is using dreams and visions to seek and to save those who will perish apart from Christ, but it is the norm. I’ve had 11 reports that seem to be valid but that’s over a 15 year period, so you can see that it’s an extremely rare occasion. Of course, thousands over the years have contacted us about dreams and visions they had, but they were believers and had access to a Bible, and after hearing about their dreams, it appears to be just a random dream, an occurrence which happens to many of us. We cannot force meaning into our or other people’s dreams and attribute them all to God. Not every dream has meaning and God speaks most clearly to us in the Bible and not in dreams or visions.
Conclusion
I pray that you have already put your trust in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If that has not yet happened my friend, you are, at this very moment, in real danger of hell fire. And I mean, in immediate danger. Like all humanity, you are one breath, one heartbeat…one accident away from eternity when it will be too late to repent. Today is the best day to believe (2 Cor 6:2) since tomorrow is not guaranted to any one of us. If Jesus Christ came today, here is your fate (Matt 7:21-23). This is why I plead with you as you read this, repent today…and I mean right now, because Jesus could come at any moment and it will be too late for you to repent. See how the world will mourn and wail when Jesus does return because they know it’s too late for them to be saved (Rev 1:7). My advice is to put your trust in Jesus Christ. If you do not, you will face God’s judgment after death guaranteed (Heb 9:27) or at Jesus Christ’s appearance (Rev 20:12-15), which could happen at any moment.
