Everyone has a name. In the Bible God names people and many times that name reflects the character of the person. He even gives Himself several names, which are really just an extension of His character. Take a look at these amazing Bible verses about God.

Some Amazing Names of God from Hebrew
Elohim – This name made up of two Hebrew words. The title “El” means “power, strength and might”.[1] It is the first name for God that we see in the Bible and it is used over two thousand times in the Bible. It is a plural form of an Hebrew word.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God [Elohim] created the heaven and the earth
El Shaddai – This name means “The Almighty” and we can find that almost 50 times in the Bible. The first time we see it is when God changes Abram’s name to Abraham:
Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD [Jehovah] appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God [El Shaddai]; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Adonai – God gives Himself this name to mean “God the Son as sovereign Master”.[2] It is seen over three hundred times in the Bible. We also see this in Genesis as follows:
Genesis 18:27 Abraham answered and said, “Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord [Adonai], I who am but dust and ashes…”
YHWH or Jehovah – This is the most frequently used name for God. In the KJV of the Bible when you see the word LORD (all uppercase letters) it is referring to the divine personal name for God. It appears in the Bible more than six thousand times. When Moses asked God His name He said:
Exodus 3:14 (KJV) And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM [YHWH or Jehovah]: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM [Jehovah] hath sent me unto you.

Genesis 22:14 (Jehovah-Jireh, God the Provider) So Abraham called the name of that place, “The LORD will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”
Exodus 15:26 (Jehovah-Rophe, God that Heals) … “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, your healer.”
Exodus 17:15 (Jehovah-Nissi, God my Banner, my Victor, my Protector) And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The LORD Is My Banner,
Judges 6:24 (Jehovah-Shalom, God is Peace) Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD and called it, The LORD Is Peace. To this day it still stands at Ophrah, which belongs to the Abiezrites.
Psalms 23:1 (Jehovah-Rohi, The Lord my shepherd) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
