In my opinion, Chris Tomlin is one of the best Christian song writers and worship leaders of today. In this article I will not only include songs that Chris wrote, I will also share some well known songs that I think you will agree he sings and leads well.  When I hear him I always want to sing praises to the Lord. Here are 10 of what I consider to be the best Chris Tomlin songs.  Enjoy!

Featured Song:

We Fall Down (Chris Tomlin) This is the song that gave Chris Tomlin world-wide exposure as a worship song writer and leader.  He was young and just graduated from college when he was at camp with his friend Louie Giglio; he was moved to write this song when Louie preached from Revelation 4. A few months later Chris heard a group singing this song and it confirmed that he was on the right road, doing what God made him to do – write and lead worship songs. While this song dates back to 1997, it is ageless in its message that one day we will fall down and worship Jesus.  It is a simple tune with a huge message. Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)

This song combines some of the traditional “Amazing Grace” hymn by John Newton with new lyrics and tune by Christ Tomlin. The song was inspired by the movie “Amazing Grace” and is the title song for that movie.

This is another lovely, worshipful song.  It is easy to sing and easy to lead. Take a look at the lyrics.

One of the newer songs, “I Lift My Hands” is a great one to sing with your hands lifted high to our ever faithful God and Father.

If you are looking for a good song for Easter, this one would do well as a special music piece.  The lyrics are powerful and the song brings tears to my eyes every time I recall the fact that I am just a sinner saved by grace. I have heard many people sing this one and I think Chris Tomlin’s rendition is the best by far. I must give credit to the lovely Laura Story, who wrote this song.

Mighty is the Power of the Cross (Shawn Craig)

This song was written by Shawn Craig of the group Phillips, Craig and Dean.  They do a great job with this song too, but since I am writing about Chris Tomlin songs, I thought I would include it here because it made the top 500 worship songs list in 2005 as reported by the Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI)
